Our Mission

Our mission is to enhance the knowledge and practice of justice among individuals and institutions locally and globally.

To achieve this mission, we engage people in a unique and integrative process of contemplation, social analysis, and social action.

All three steps (contemplation, analysis, and action) inform our current projects.

"Be the change you want to see in the world."
- Mohandas Gandhi
From the Board...
Dear friend,

There is a famous quote attributed to Mohandas Gandhi that says, “Be the change you want to see in the world.”  His words continue to resonate deeply among those of us who wish to take what is broken in our world and make it whole.  Oftentimes, however, we struggle with where and how to begin.  We believe the key is to simply start wherever we are and take that first, small step, for "a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step."

In March of 2008, Frank Fromherz did just this as he invited a small group of people to explore the topic of global justice and contemplate the role each of us plays as "justicemakers."  The dialogue took shape over a period of months, and from it evolved the Pacific Center for Global Justice, a non-profit organization that seeks to enhance the knowledge and practice of justice among individuals and institutions across the globe.  One individual act set the wheels of progress in motion.  Imagine where this may lead!

As an organization, the Pacific Center engages people who wish to deepen their understanding of justice, enhance their ability to effect change, and sustain their efforts over time.  In a word, our work is about transformation – first from within, then rippling outward – to be the change we want to see in the world.

Our approach blends three vital elements - contemplation, analysis and action – that help us shed the distractions of our busy lives, apply critical thinking to discern the root causes of injustice, and respond as we are able with worthy, just alternatives.

We invite you to embark on this journey with us, adding the richness of your life experience, your knowledge and wisdom, your spirit, and your power to act.  Take part in our projects and become a member of our community of justicemakers.  Consider a tax-deductible donation to support our mission.  Any amount is worthy, so please give as you are able.  Lastly, please share this message with others.

The Pacific Center for Global Justice has a vision for a better world, and we invite you to help us be the change we want to see together.

In gratitude,

The Board of Directors
